A professional payment experience, built into your workflow
Payment link pages are generated by Counselling Buddy and sent to your client - either manually, or automatically before a session. The page shows the session fee and checkout, and can include your practice policy documents so your client has everything in one place.
This is part of the Billing & Payments feature set, available on the Premium plan (£19.99/month) and above.
What a payment link page can include
Session fee and checkout
The page displays the session amount and allows your client to pay securely. Counselling Buddy never sees your client’s card details; they are securely processed by our fully PCI-DSS compliant payments partner (Stripe).
Practice policies
You can attach any combination of the following to a payment link page:
- Working agreement - your terms of engagement with the client
- No-show policy - what happens if a client misses a session without notice
- Cancellation policy - your notice period and any associated fees
- Late payment policy - your approach to outstanding payments
Including policies in confirmation emails
The same policy documents can be included in your session confirmation emails, so clients receive them at the point of booking rather than only at payment. This is configured in your account settings.

How payment links are sent
Payment links can be sent manually from a client’s profile or from a session record, or sent automatically 48 hours before a session. The automatic option is configured per appointment type in your settings.

Billing & Payments features - including payment link pages - are available on the Premium plan at £19.99/month and higher tiers.

Getting started
- Ensure you are on the Premium plan or above
- Go to Settings → Billing to configure your session fees and policy documents
- Generate a payment link from a client profile or session record, or enable automatic sending in your appointment type settings
- Your client receives the link and can pay and review your policies from a single page
